Lisha Yan utilizes two distinct approaches in her work: one is “doing by thinking,” in which the concept acquires inspiration from past experiences. The other approach is “thinking by doing” where meaning is revealed during the process of making. The “doing by thinking” and “thinking by doing” approaches work towards finding the balance between the object and the concept.
