As a youngster growing up in the middle of a forest in Hungary, Brigitta Begyel was aware of a palpable sense of fear that emanated from fairytales. That fear has influenced her work and interests throughout her life. After reading the original unedited tales by the Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian Andersen, she identifies with the themes and the figures; they are embedded in her surroundings, both mentally and physically. For her project this semester, Begyel turns those feelings into something physical.
