Kun Kyung Sok studio tour.
My work during this time in quarantine is about the domestic space where I perform daily chores such as cooking and cleaning while I make art. The main theme of the work is repetition. Repetition is laborious; it consumes time and requires patience, but the process calms me. To create these pieces, I covered the walls with stripes and grids of different materials such as duct tape, canvas, rice paper and plexiglass. The work took place over 100 days. In Buddhist culture, people pray or meditate for 100 days to make a wish or to practice self-discipline. When I work in this repetitive way, I am in a state that is comparable to prayer and meditation.
