The unpredictable phenomena of nature has always intrigued me. This year I began to work with photography to examine memory, particularly my memory of natural disasters, as compared to the public memory. The subtle disconnect between the private-public interface inspires me to create prints and to experiment with image processing. Images from the public realm interfere with images of my personal experience; they are permeable, they transform each other. I want to create a palimpsest whereby the images in my artworks are containers for the overlapping of private and public memories.
