Photography and Beyond
Photography is a tool for experimentation and intellectual inquiry. Artists today make use of photography not only to re-present, but also to explore, question and transform their experiences of the world. This hands-on studio course focuses on photography in the 21st century by engaging in experimental approaches to photographic ideas. Students will explore screen-based imagery, digital cameras and gear equipment, advance editing and retouching, output in various papers and support material, as well as the possibilities of disseminating artworks online and through photo-based printed publications. Regular discussions will focus on art that reframes photo-based practices in the post-Internet age, while providing inspiration for the studio work.
Note: Open to students from all departments.
